2024 DSAR Fall Festival and Buddy Walk – October 19, 2024

We’d love to have you join the DSAR for our Annual Buddy Walk and Fall Festival!

Our Fall Festival and Buddy Walk will be held at Northside Middle School in Pope Gymnasium on Saturday, October 19th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.  The event will consist of Fall Festival activities and games, a kid’s fun run, and also a buddy walk to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and their families. In addition, there will be a scarecrow building contest, a bake sale, many items to raffle, and two food trucks set up for the day. Many different vendors and service vendors will also be on site to showcase their supportive services to our community.

The event kicks off at 11:00am, the Kid Fun Run starts at 1:30pm, and the Buddy Walk begins at 3:00pm.

We encourage families to create or join a team and have fun raising money. Each team will set their own fundraising goal and can do anything fun or creative to help their team raise money. All proceeds go back to the DSAR and NDSS. Be sure to encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to register for the walk. Click here to register your team and start your fundraising!

The objective of our annual Buddy Walk event is to raise funds so that we can provide advocacy, educational, and support services for individuals with Down Syndrome, as well as their families and friends. We also wish to provide this same support to professionals who work with individuals with disabilities.

A day of inspiration and celebration, the walk brings together the Down Syndrome Community all while raising funds to support the mission of The Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke. This is such a fun event that we look forward to each year!
